Dear Friends,
I am humbly requesting your support today as I embark upon the long and arduous path of Canadian Immigration.
My current Tourist Visa expires in October, 2025, at which point I may be left with no choice but to leave Canada indefinitely, or else risk DEPORTATION--which of course is not an option!
Additionally, my current visa does not guarantee Re-entry at the border, leaving my young son and I in a very vulnerable position for upcoming travel to the US this summer.
Time is of the essence to retain legal representation in order to seek Permanent Residency status so that my small family can stay together and continue to raise my son Oliver here in a safe, nurturing, Co-parented environment and society that has long reflected my core values.
As you may know, my thriving 3.5 year old has already been granted Dual Citizenship, for which I am so grateful. Oliver has truly affordable daycare, universal healthcare and most importantly a Mama and Papa here that love him unconditionally and striving to provide him his best life!
Being forced to become a single parent in the US and managing cross border custody would be an extremely difficult and heartbreaking situation for ALL of us.
While I possess a Canadian University degree, speak fluent French and now have a Canadian child, I currently have NO official rights in Canada— which includes access to healthcare, social programs and employment.
The average Permanent Residence application process typically ranges from 12-36 months and will run at least $10,000 in legal fees and over $2,000 in government applications.
Additionally, Quebec’s foreign worker visa program has been shut down since last year— truly leaving me caught between a rock and a hard place!
I believe where there is a will there is a way, but the road ahead of me is not going to be a an easy or quick one.
As a Mother, I am prepared to take immediate action and stay the course for the best interests of my child. Being forced to leave Canada would break apart our family and our hearts.
For years I have supported as many important causes and organizations working toward creating a better world for our children, planet and future generations.
Now the time has come that I ask with humility and sincerity, to please lend a helping hand if you can.
