My name is Rosa, and I’m reaching out for help for my mother, Deborah Head. Right now, my mom is fighting just to live. She relies on a high level of oxygen every day, and even the smallest thing can affect her breathing. She should be able to come home, rest, and heal—but she can’t, because her home is not safe. Her house currently has mold, damaged drywall, a gas leak, and a leaking HVAC system. These conditions are extremely dangerous for someone in her condition. Breathing in mold or gas fumes could literally cost her life.

My mom is not just anyone—she’s the kind of person who has spent her entire life taking care of others. She raised not only her own children, but also stepped in and raised her grandchildren when no one else would. She has always put everyone before herself. Now she needs help, and we can’t do this alone. To make matters even harder, she is currently dealing with ongoing stress and emotional harm from a family member, which has made the situation even more difficult while she is already vulnerable. We are in the process of seeking legal protection to keep her safe, but right now, her immediate need is a safe place to heal.

On top of all this, my mom is on a fixed income and only receives disability payments. There is no way she can afford these urgent repairs on her own. Our goal is to remove dangerous mold, repair and replace damaged drywall, fix the gas leak immediately, and repair or replace the HVAC system so she can safely breathe inside her own home.
