My mom recently experienced something no one ever expects — a severe aspergillus mold outbreak in her apartment that made it unsafe to live in. The contamination spread through the air and into everything porous — her clothes, furniture, bedding, couch, and more. Sadly, almost all of her belongings had to be thrown away for health and safety reasons.

She now has to move immediately and start over from scratch — finding a new safe home, replacing essentials, and rebuilding a sense of stability after this devastating loss. She filed a claim with her renters insurance and they aren’t covering anything.

My mom is one of the kindest people I know. She’s always been the one to help others in need — and now she’s the one who needs our help.

We’re raising funds to cover:

• Moving expenses and deposits for a new apartment

• Replacement of basic necessities (clothes, linens, furniture, etc.)

• Cleaning and medical costs related to mold exposure
