Help Deb Fleming Get a Walk-In Shower
Donation protected
Hi everyone. I'm Lisa Loughridge, and I'm reaching out to you on behalf of my dear friend Deb Fleming, who needs our help. Deb has faced immense challenges throughout her life, living with Cerebral Palsy since birth. She was truly blessed with her wonderful parents, Albert and Anita, who not only took exceptional care of her but also taught her valuable skills for managing a home. Unfortunately, tragedy struck on Memorial Day 2019 when an EF3 tornado devastated their home in Celina. This disaster came at a time when her parents were already experiencing declining health. The loss of their home and their passing in 2020 left Deb in a difficult situation, and she had to move out of town to live with her brother and his family. Deb always yearned to return to Celina, and thankfully, she was able to find a house in 2022.
While this home has been a hopeful step forward, it does require many essential modifications to better accommodate her particular needs. Our immediate goal is to install a Walk-In Shower, as Deb has been forced to rely on sponge baths for over two years due to her inability to safely use the existing bathtub. Last Christmas, Deb expressed her deepest longing to be able to take a shower again; a simple comfort that many of us take for granted. We are raising $3000 to cover the cost of a handicap-accessible Walk-In shower, including a seat, grab bars, and a proper shower system. We are fortunate to have skilled volunteers who have generously offered to handle the installation, so all funds raised will go directly towards purchasing the necessary equipment and covering renovation costs.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant impact on Deb's life. Please consider donating to this important cause and share this fundraiser with others. Thank you for your kindness and for your support!!
