(Update: 09/12/25)
My mom has now been placed on hospice && has been showing more signs of decline. Please pray for our family thru this difficult && emotional time. We’re now raising the money to ease any financial burden of missing work to be close to my mom at this time && also any expenses that insurance doesn’t cover. Thank you greatly to everyone who has donated. I truly appreciate every dollar. God bless.
- Hello, my name is Kassandra.
I’m creating this GoFundMe in hopes of raising support for my family as we navigate one of the hardest times of our lives.
In May of 2024, my beautiful mother, Deanna, was diagnosed with Stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer. Since that day, I’ve been her primary caregiver. I’m an only child, a single mom to four kids, and I also work full-time—but my mom has always been our foundation, and I’m doing everything I can to be hers now.
She has fought so hard to stay with us. The chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation helped keep her cancer nearly undetectable, but they’ve taken a huge toll on her body. At this point, she no longer seems strong enough to continue treatment, even just immunotherapy. Her other health issues have led to multiple hospital stays, and recently she’s experienced a decline that requires more care and attention.
Despite the hardships, we’re keeping faith that this is just another bump in the road—and if not, then we will cherish every moment we have. Financially, though, it has been very difficult. I’m hoping to raise enough to:
• Take time off work to be with her when she needs me most
• Cover travel costs for hospital stays and procedures, including transportation to Phoenix for a procedure and a second opinion at MD Anderson Cancer Center
• Ease some of the burden on our family during this time
My mom is one of the most selfless women you could ever meet. She would give her last dollar to a stranger in need. She deserves so much more than this diagnosis, and my only prayer is that God blesses her with more good years.
Every donation, no matter how small, and every share of this campaign means the world to us. Thank you for helping us fight alongside my mom and make the time she has as meaningful as possible.
