Arturo Gimenez, beloved deacon at Blessed Sacrament Church for many years, has been battling advanced lymphoma for a few fierce months. However, he was sent back to his house last night to close out his remaining time beside his wife of 56 years and with a window view of his cherished garden and birds.
The battle has been hard. Lymphoma is usually treatable. But he is 82 with rheumatoid arthritis and arrhythmia. He has fought pneumonia twice, has blood clots, three types of bacteria, and more. This poor man is going through it—and has done so with grace, patience, and acceptance.
His faith is intact.
The bills, not so much. Please consider making a donation of any size to help offset mounting medical costs and also help his cherished wife. A retired director of Faith Formation, his wife is caring for him as he is now back at home for the final time after weeks of going from home to hospital
to rehab to home to hospital to rehab, etc. It is very difficult to do all that while one’s heart is breaking and while bills stack up.
Please consider praying for Arturo, his wife Anamaria, and family as well as
making a donation, if possible.
