I am organizing this fundraiser for a special family, a single mom and her three amazing kids. She has worked tirelessly to provide for them, but unfortunately she has been facing very difficult times. I’m reaching out for extra support.

Last summer her car engine blew, which added another obstacle. She has been without consistent transportation. This is an added hurdle that has made it incredibly hard to get to work, take her children to school, doctor appointments, grocery shopping, laundry among other daily functions.

She and her kids have been living in hotels for over a year.

The home she previously rented was abruptly sold last summer, leaving them with no home. She has been unable to secure housing support or assistance despite repeatedly contacting local social services. Unfortunately, waitlists are long, funding is limited and the support just hasn’t come through.

She is a hard working mom who works a full time job for the school system, but with the cost of hotels, food, and transportation it’s been nearly impossible to get ahead. She also works extra hours doing DoorDash late at night to have enough money for the next nights hotel stay. She has been fortunate to have a few family members and close friends who help out when they can, offering money for additional hotel nights, but it’s not enough to cover everything.

To be clear, this GoFundMe is not asking for a handout just merely asking for a hand up.

The goal is to raise enough to:

* Cover temporary housing (hotel stays/ eventually get into a apartment)

* Afford reliable transportation so she can continue to work full-time without transportation issues or extra costs.

* Catch up on basic necessities for her children (clothes, school supplies, etc.)

* Save for a stable, long-term housing solution
