Hello friends!
On November 1st, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP - a.k.a. food stamps) will run out of money, due to lack of funding by the federal government. For over 42 million Americans - 130,000 of whom live right here in D.C. - this could mean a complete loss of reliable access to food.
I live in a low/middle income neighborhood in Washington D.C. where many families and young children rely on SNAP benefits for their meals. My goal is to keep this community food panty (pictured above) stocked for the duration of the government shutdown, to help the people in my community get the food they need.
Any donation helps! I will regularly post receipts and pictures for accountability, and will happily accept any suggestions for ways to improve or any food/household items you think I should provide.
Thank you so so so much for the help! <3
