Help Day House Get Bed-Bug Free!
Donation protected
Dear Day House community,
As many of you know, we are a house of hospitality in the tradition of the Catholic Worker movement. For over 40 years, our 10-bedroom home has provided transitional shelter to folks in our community. As you can imagine, with many people coming in and out of our doors, sometimes little critters find their way into our home too.
This season, we've been working to manage some particularly unwelcome critters: bed bugs. Unfortunately, bed bugs are incredibly resilient and sneaky, so ridding them from a home this big is quite costly. Although we have some funds set aside for extermination in our budget, we're still in need of financial help to make sure we can move forward totally bed-bug free.
Any funds you can contribute would go directly towards the cost of: professional chemical treatment; renting dumpsters to discard old mattresses and furniture; anti-microbial covers for all of our mattresses and box springs; and handheld sprays to prevent future infestations. (If you'd like to see an exact breakdown of costs, please let us know).
THANK YOU to all who continue to support us with your time, spirit, and resources. We truly couldn't do this work without you.
