Help Dawn, Dominique & Family Rebuild After Devastating Fire
Donation protected
In the early morning hours of June 11th, 2025, a devastating fire tore through the apartment complex where my Aunt Dawn and my Cousin Dominique lived just one door apart, in their small North Dakota town. Both units were completely destroyed.
Dawn lived with her partner Brett, and Dominique lived with her 3 children and partner Desmond. The cause of the fire remains unclear, especially as it broke out shortly after a scheduled power outage in the area. Both families were fast asleep when the fire began.
By God’s grace, everyone made it out safely—no injuries, no hospitalizations, but tragically, everything else was lost.
Both families lost all of their belongings. Dominique’s car was destroyed, and even more heartbreaking, the newly purchased engagement ring Desmond had planned to propose with this weekend was also lost in the fire. My Aunt Dawn also lost her beloved cat, who is still missing.
The town has come together in an incredible way, offering food, clothes, and temporary shelter but the financial need remains urgent and significant.
We’re asking for help to raise $100,000, which will go directly to Dawn, Brett, Dominique, Desmond, and the kids, to help them with:
•Securing long-term housing
•Replacing essential belongings, furniture, and home goods
•Transportation and childcare needs
•Recovery and stability for three young children in the aftermath of this trauma
My family is strong and resilient, they’re quick to help others, and not the ones to ask for help themselves. But now, they need us. Every single donation helps. If you can’t give, please consider sharing this with your community or with anyone who can help.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support.
