Everyone’s dear friend, Dawn, is facing the unimaginable challenge of becoming the primary caregiver of her father, who is suffering from dementia. For the last 18 months, his health has rapidly deteriorated. Dawn has dropped everything—again and again—to fly across the country and care for him as dementia takes more of him each day.

Dawn has repeatedly taken the 4,000-mile round-trip journey to care for and advocate for him, sometimes for months at a time. In the beginning of November, due to her father being hospitalized, she headed back to Chicago again and is currently working diligently to make sure he has everything he needs.

The emotional toll on Dawn is compounded by the costs associated with expensive flights and transportation, meetings with lawyers, specialists, and medical teams.

The financial costs are becoming overwhelming, and we are trying to ease some of the things she is having to endure by raising $10,000 to offset some of these expenses.

Her father has no other family, so this responsibility falls solely on her. Dawn is doing everything in her power to ensure her father receives the care he deserves.

Dawn has spent the last 10 years of her life in the nonprofit sector, tirelessly working to improve the lives of children, youth, and their families. Now she needs our support.
