As many of you are already aware, my brother David is a former drug addict, and current felon.
His drug addiction and desperation caused him to steal a bottle of pain pills. That little bottle has followed him around for nearly fifteen years.
He believed that in the beginning of 2023 he would be able to expunge his record this year, but was met with disappointment, as the record can only be expunged 5 years after the probation ends. Which put his expungement back until 2028, where he would be 48 years old, and not a ton of time left to take care of his family.
Well, the law changed this year, cutting expungement wait times in half, which means he can clear his record right now.
He only gets one shot at this, and if the expungement is denied, he will never be allowed to try again, leaving him stuck with his felony until the day he dies.
We have been recommended to get a lawyer to represent him during this process. He will finally be allowed to work in places that provide a better income allowing him to take care of his 3 little ones and his wife.
I know he wants to be allowed to take care of his family in a way far beyond his current means.
So, if you can help with this final step to becoming whole again and help allow him to take care of the ones he loves the way he believes they deserve. Please stop to consider donating to this fund. This will directly affect his life for the better, and everyone who knows and loves him will get to see their help, love, and concern, alter the course of his life towards a better future. Thank you everyone.
