Help Bring Free Medical Care and Essential Support to Underserved Communities in Bogotá, Colombia
My name is David. I am a U.S.-based healthcare provider and Marine Corps veteran providing free medical care to underserved communities in Bogotá, Colombia.
Since November 2024, I have partnered with Comunidad Cristiana de Adoración Sinaí, a local nonprofit serving families facing poverty, displacement, and limited access to healthcare. Together, we support seniors, migrants, and vulnerable families who often delay or forgo care due to financial and geographic barriers.
To date, more than 450 patients have been seen through this work.
What We Are Doing
We currently provide free:
- Wellness and preventive health checks
- Cardiovascular screenings and electrocardiograms
- Minor urgent care services
- Medication refills for chronic conditions
- Diabetic foot and hearing exams
Even with limited resources, early assessment and basic tools can save lives. Several patients have already been identified with serious conditions and referred for timely, lifesaving treatment.
Why We Are Expanding This Fundraiser
As our collaboration has grown, so has our understanding of community needs. Health does not exist in isolation. Families struggling without basic necessities often cannot prioritize medical care, education, or recovery from trauma.
In addition to ongoing medical services, we are now raising funds to support:
- School supply kits for children (notebooks, pencils, crayons)
- Essential hygiene items such as toothpaste, toilet paper, and personal care supplies
- Clothing and basic necessities for women supported by a partner nonprofit serving survivors of sexual violence related to armed conflict in Colombia
All support is coordinated locally to ensure appropriate, dignified distribution.
A Milestone Reached and the Next Goal
Thanks to previous donors, we successfully funded essential medications and a portable electrocardiogram unit, which is already being used in community clinics.
Our updated goal is $2,500, which will support:
- A year’s supply of essential medications
- School and hygiene supply distribution
- Outreach logistics to reach those most in need
How Your Support Helps
Every dollar goes directly toward care and community support:
- $5 – 30-day supply of blood pressure medication
- $15 – Antibiotics for common infections
- $25 – School supply kit for one child
- $50 – Hygiene and personal care supplies for a family
- $100 – Medical equipment and outreach support
Any funds beyond the goal will expand services into additional underserved areas.
Thank you for supporting access to care.
