Hi! I’m David — an Urban Farmer, sports coach, youth mentor, and someone who believes deeply in the power of community and nourishment.

My journey into farming began with my late grandma, Rosa. Every morning, she walked me to school after we made a deal: I’d water her garden, and she’d make me a warm breakfast egg sandwich. Those moments were simple, but they planted a seed in me I didn’t understand until years later.

Grandma Rosa passed away after fighting breast cancer with everything she had. But the lessons she left me were alive:

"Care for living things. Nurture what matters. Keep growing, even when life is hard."

In her final breaths, she told me, “Mijo, I see you as a doctor helping people heal.” I wasn’t studying medicine, so I always wondered—what did she see? Today, I believe she saw this path: healing people by growing real food, building community, and helping our youth feel supported and nourished.

For years, I’ve planted hundreds of garden beds by hand. It’s been hard on my body, but I’ve done it with love because every seed I plant becomes food for kids, families, schools, and local restaurants. The demand for fresh, local food is growing fast, and I want to meet that need — but I’m reaching the physical limits of what I can do on my own.

That’s why I’m asking for your help.

The Jang JP5 seeder is a tool that will change everything for my urban farming efforts. It will allow me to plant faster, with precision, and without the constant strain on my back and body. With it, I can expand to multiple farm sites, grow more food, and make a bigger impact in the community I love.
