Help David and Tracy Overcome This Challenge

In early August, David and Tracy Simpson were faced with one of the most challenging times imaginable. What started out as a seemingly straightforward infected wound in David’s right foot, turned into something much more serious, and after nearly a month-long stay in two separate hospitals and countless procedures to get the infection under control, the doctors gave them the devastating news that David’s foot could not be saved. On August 26th, after a lengthy stay at St. Mary’s and Northwest Medical Center, while under the best care, David underwent a below-the-knee amputation.

While this was not the outcome they (we all) were praying for, David and Tracy have stood strong in their faith and have chosen to remain positive and find joy in spite of their circumstances. They recognize that God is the source of their strength and I have witnessed their unshakable faith and optimism. They are not allowing this setback to get them down.

Being a truck driver, losing his leg has been a devastating blow for David. He has been unable to work since early August and is trying to sell his big truck to get out from under that financial burden. David is currently in the process of being fitted for a prosthetic, but this multi-step process takes time. Tracy is working, but has used most of her sick days during the first month of school being with him in the hospital and post surgery. With medical bills coming in and their income taking a major hit, they are struggling financially.

I have asked permission from their family to start this campaign. I am a former student of Tracy’s and have watched firsthand as they have always poured into everyone around them. It doesn’t matter who you are, the Simpsons would do anything for you. I’ve seen it countless times over the years. The Simpsons are givers, and I would love it if we could give back, even a little bit, to help alleviate some of the burden that they are experiencing through this challenging time. Thank you for your generosity and prayers for this amazing couple.
