Hi, I’m DaVeon. I am in the United States Navy. This is my daughter Lyla. My wife and I are raising money to have her in our lives and her grandparents lives. I was lucky enough to see her be born April 2019 in Scotland but I quickly had to leave a day after the birth due to being on deployment at the time near Syria. Since I was only there for a day after the birth she did not put my name on the birth certificate. I saw her just once before Covid hit . During that time in Scotland I went to a solicitor to put in paperwork to have my name placed on the birth certificate.
Once I left Scotland I went on the longest recorded deployment out at sea with no port visits and limited communication on the Eisenhower. During that time the Scotland registry were no longer taking any new updates after laying off many of their workers during Covid. That deteriorated the relationship with my child’s mother. Since that time it has been hard trying to have the mother of my child send documentation that I can fill out to properly and legally responsible to my daughter. She has blocked my mother from all social platforms and rarely sends photos to me or my family. Within 6 years of her life I’ve lived in Japan, Spain, Va and deployed numerous times. I finally got to see her again when I was deployed to Scotland randomly and begged my command for special leave on a duty day to see her. With my service to the navy, my obligation as a husband, and love for my mother as her son I’d like to make it possible that I raise enough money to fly to Scotland, retain a lawyer, and pay court fees to finally have my name placed on Lyla’s birth certificate and be legally responsible to my daughter. Thank you for your time.
