My name is Dave Provost. I am a Portland, Oregon resident, educator, professional musician, and trauma-informed practitioner. I have worked collaboratively in communities across the United States for the last 35 years. I am extremely proud to call Portland my permanent home, and I am dedicated to improving the collective mental health of our unique community. Two years ago I founded Circle to Self: Trauma-Informed Coaching, Counseling, and Consulting, and I currently see individuals in private practice.
Portland, like virtually all communities, has a high number of individuals without access to effective, affordable mental health care. Among those hard-working individuals are those who serve the public in some of the most taxing and demanding settings, along with artists, musicians, and other creatives who contribute so deeply to Portland's rich culture and nightlife.
I have founded The Clear Night Project in conjunction with my private practice as a way to provide affordable, accessible mental health care to underserved groups -- bartenders, servers, and other entertainment industry professionals; working artists, musicians, and performers without health coverage; and other groups supporting Portland's rich, diverse nightlife.
The funds raised from this campaign will be used to create infrastructure for the project as well as extensive outreach to both providers and city establishments and venues. The end product will be a dynamic, responsive organization of caring providers throughout the Portland metro area available to respond to individuals in need, regardless of their ability to pay.
