Community, neighbors, friends, and family are some of the most important pieces in our hearts and our lives. On February 21, 2026 our friends and neighbors, Dave and Val Trombley, lost their house and belongings to a fire. This house in Chaparral Park was so much more than just a building. It was their home for 26 years, the home in which they raised their kids, the home where they made countless memories, and the home they prided themselves on repairing, maintaining, and upgrading with their bare hands.
All animals and people are safe and physically unharmed. We are beyond thankful they walked away together. But the emotional toll is and will continue to be immense—their home, photos, heirlooms, Packers memorabilia, and sense of security are gone.
As their friends and neighbors we want to help them rebuild their lives—they are an integral part of our village. If you know Val and Dave, you know they are selfless, giving, generous people with big hearts. Right now their hearts are broken. They always show up for others in their lives and now it’s our turn to rally around them.
Dave recently retired and Val is nearing retirement. Settling into retirement peacefully literally went up in flames but we want to do all we can to help to help them resettle. We are asking our village, our community, our friends, and families to help them get started on resettling and putting back together the pieces of their lives. Funds will be used for immediate needs such as temporary housing, clothing, basic necessities, and eventually replacing household items and furniture. No gift is too small—every dollar will make a real difference and show Dave and Val that they are not alone. If you have ever been touched by their kindness, please consider helping today. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your generosity, support, and shares.
With deep gratitude,
Alonna, Vanessa, Cathy, Tanya, Patricia, Roxie, Karlyn
