Help Daphne Fight Stage 4 Cancer

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind supporters,

I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out to share a difficult story about my mom, Daphne Meyer, a remarkable woman who has always been the heart of our family. Daphne has always been a hardworking, independent mother of two who has never been one to look for a handout. However, now she needs assistance more than ever.

On December 12, 2022, she was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer, which required intensive treatment. She underwent surgery on January 4, 2023, to have an intravenous port implanted. Five days later, she began the first of six weeks of chemotherapy, paired with six weeks of radiation. These treatments were scheduled Monday through Friday until the end of February. After this period, she had CT and PET scans to assess the cancer's progression. The scans revealed that the radiation had broken up some of the tumor, but the cancer had also metastasized to her lungs, moving her to the stage 4 category.

At that point, she was placed on a neoadjuvant chemotherapy treatment plan. She endured a year and a half of challenging chemotherapy, during which she lost a significant amount of weight and became weaker, all while trying to maintain control over the cancer. Unfortunately, during this tough journey, she developed chemotherapy-induced neuropathy, which has impacted the feeling in her hands, legs, and feet. Her neurologist has informed us that this condition is something she will have to cope with for the rest of her life. There is no reversal, and medication can only somewhat alleviate the pain she experiences daily.

After trying several different chemotherapy drugs without success, she was referred to a clinical trial in Nashville, Tennessee. For about five months, we traveled to Nashville every week, sometimes staying for up to 10 days at a time. Thankfully, the trial has agreed to allow her to receive some treatments locally; however, we still need to go to Nashville every 21 days for appointments and treatments at the trial facility.

The emotional and financial strain has become overwhelming, with medical bills piling up. While we are doing our best to support her, we need assistance from our community.

We’ve launched this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for her treatment and essential daily expenses. Every dollar counts and will allow her to focus on healing rather than worrying about finances.

If you would rather donate through Venmo or Cashapp i have set those both up for her as well.

Your support means everything to us—a reminder that love and community can truly make a difference. Please consider donating or sharing this campaign. Your kindness can profoundly impact my mom’s life during this challenging time.

Thank you for your generosity!

With gratitude,
Dalton Armstrong
