Good day, my name is Dannett Simmons. I was born and raised in Belmont, Westmoreland, Jamaica. I have four children: Milan, Ajani, Elias, and Kamaria.

I recently lost everything I worked for and owned as it was destroyed by Hurricane Melissa. I lost my home, restaurant business, and farm. My losses also include all my chickens and the fruit and vegetable trees I planted. I have nowhere to turn because I have no savings to cover such a loss. I am in dire need of help to rebuild. I would appreciate from the bottom of my heart any help you can provide to assist me in regaining my independence. I thank God I am still standing even though the walls I once lived in are not.

As I am raising these funds for myself, I intend to use all funds received to rebuild my home, farm, and business. After removing debris and total loss items, I want to rebuild using stronger materials such as steel and concrete to ensure a lasting structure that will last through weather and provide my shelter and livelihood. Replant nourishing fruit trees and vegetables to grow from the earth. If funds remain, I would invest in a generator that can ensure power.
