Help Danielle's Fight for Calliope

Hello, my name is Danielle. My daughter, Calliope, was admitted into Brenner’s medical center Tuesday evening, May 21st. She started with high fevers of 103 and up on Sunday, May 19th. We went to urgent care, tested for the Flu, COVID, RSV, and strep, all came back negative. We were informed she had a severe ear infection.

Started on antibiotics, Monday morning she woke up screaming, her temp was as high as 106. Rushed to the ER, noticed a small rash developing on her right arm, belly, inner thighs, and jaw line. We were informed the rash was viral and the antibiotics needed time to work. Went to her pediatrician on Tuesday morning, was again told her rash that at this point had spread over her entire body was just viral and that if her fevers continued to spike to go back to the ER.

Tuesday afternoon at 2:05pm, took her temp, it was 101.8, gave 5mls of Tylenol. Noticed she was getting warmer so I checked her temp again at 3:50pm and it was 104. Rushed her back to the ER where blood work was done and IV fluids were administered. Blood work came back abnormal. The infectious disease team along with her team of doctors are working hard to figure out what is going on with my baby.

The officially diagnosed her with Kawasaki disease. She will need to see a cardiologist in a couple of weeks to make sure this disease hasn’t affected her heart in any way. In the mean time, she is taking baby aspirin to help prevent any issues.

We are finally home, she’s finally free of the rash and the swelling of her entire body. She is still very raspy, and still very unbalanced. Constantly stumbling and loosing her balance. But she gets right back up.

I am a single mom and currently out of work while in the hospital with my baby girl. Anything will help to be able to pay for bills and medical bills. Thank you. Please continue to pray for my beautiful baby girl. Thank you!
