Help Danielle & Grandma repair home
Donation protected
You never know what will happen when you answer someone’s call for help. What started out as fixing drywall in a garage soon completely changed into something I never saw coming and neither did the young lady I agreed to help.
I met a friend of my daughter, her name is Danielle and she is 29. We met for the first time when I responded to an SOS she put out on Facebook asking for anyone that could help with repairing the ceiling in her parents home. I thought it would be a quick fix. Turns out it was not.
Danielle grew up in this home. Her mom died a few years ago. Her dad had a stroke and is on disability. Her grandmother suffers from dementia and is 90 years old. Danielle has her own disabilities but despite everything, she is giving it her all to help grandma and dad.
Soon after I agreed to help her fix the garage ceiling, I learned that her dad went into the hospital. When he came out, he asked Danielle to move in with her grandmother. He had been living with grandma, taking care of her while Danielle lived in her parents home. Dad moved back to his home and Danielle moved in with her grandmother.
As I stood there listening to this young lady, my heart ached for her. I knew in that moment this was about to be bigger than I expected.
But I have been in this position before and I have seen the hand of God deliver again and again. There’s no reason to believe the Lord wouldn’t move this time too.
The focus now shifted to grandma‘s house. I found several things that needed to be fixed, mainly due to age.
Danielle had stepped out in faith hoping anyone, someone would answer the call.
The garage ceiling in her childhood home is in the rearview as the work needed now is making sure grandma’s house has everything she needs and is up to date.
That’s where you and me come in.
There are several small jobs that have been completed already, but one big thing remains - the roof. The roof on grandma’s house is 20 years old. Many of us know how insurance companies handle old roofs.
Grandma and her family can’t afford a new roof. We’ve been using the money we raised so far to do the little jobs around the house but I know at 90 years old paying for a new roof is pretty difficult.
I remember when my dad was on disability and how hard it was just to make ends meet.
I remember how hard it was to watch my step dad struggle with dementia.
I know the pain of losing a mother so I can relate to this young lady. She is carrying a big weight on her shoulders and we have a chance to gather around and lend them a hand. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus.
If you feel led to give or participate, you can do what a few folks did already - reach out to me directly and donate or donate here.
We’re off and running to help Danielle and her 90 year old grandma in 2025.
This family has been through so much in the last several years and I would love to give them a helping hand.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could fix the broken stuff on her home and bring peace of mind to grandma and Danielle? Danielle’s mom would have loved to have seen people come together for such a time as this to help her mother. Grandma is a veteran having served 8 years in the Air Force a long time ago.
Will you join me and be a part of another opportunity to bless someone else?
I can’t do this on my own and if the past fundraisers are any indication of how loving some of you are, I trust you will be there again whether in prayer, financial support, physical labor, or cheerleading. We can do great things together again!
Some of you were so instrumental in your support of Marie’s drain field project in 2020 and Terry's house project in 2023. Here we are- project #3 in 2025. I know - I can’t believe it!❤️
Exciting days are ahead! I can’t wait to see where this goes!
Danielle and grandma we’re on our way!!❤️
