Hello, I'm Daniel Mapes. For those who don't know me, this is by far the most heart-breaking event ever in my life.

My son, Brenen Christopher Mapes, 33 years old, committed suicide when he went out to his residence carport on Wednesday, July 17 of this year and ended his life at 5:49 pm by hanging himself.

I'm medically disabled and receive social security disability, so that is why I'm desperately reaching out and asking for help with my son's final expenses.

Over the last year, I've endured six emergency vascular surgeries that included seven stent placements, and I have also been diagnosed with 3rd stage kidney disease. Two months ago, I was diagnosed with myeloproliferative neoplasm, a blood cancer where a mutation in the JAK2 gene in the bone marrow produces too many blood platelets.

I'd gladly give up the fight for those issues, but I can't lose this fight in laying my son Brenen's body to rest. A father is not supposed to bury his child; he was supposed to bury me.

I know times are financially hard for everyone these days, but any help you can give can help me lay my son to rest. Thank you and God bless you and your family. Hug, kiss, and love them every day because we're all only here a short time.
