Help Daniel Eat for the First Time: Surgery Fundraiser

Imagine being 13 years old and never having eaten a real meal.
For "Daniel," that has been his reality since he was two, when he suffered devastating trauma to his esophagus. Since then, he’s been unable to swallow even his own saliva, surviving on liquefied meals passed through a feeding tube.

His father — a single dad of three — has fought every day to keep him alive. In their home country, he would blend solid foods with milk to pass through the tube. When their blender was stolen during their migration journey to the U.S., he even chewed food by mouth to feed his son through the tube.

Now, after 11 years of searching, Daniel finally has the chance to undergo a complex surgery that could allow him to eat normally for the first time in his life. His father brought their family to the United States with one dream: to make this surgery possible — and to give Daniel a future beyond survival.

We are raising funds to help cover the critical expenses that will come during Daniel’s surgery and recovery:

  • Lost wages while his father cares for him
  • Childcare for his two siblings during hospitalization
  • Transportation to and from the hospital and therapy appointments
  • Food, rent, and utilities during recovery

For his father, this surgery is the end of an 11-year journey of hope and sacrifice.
For Daniel, it’s the beginning of something he has only dreamed of — eating lunch with friends at school, and sharing desserts with his siblings.

Please consider donating to help give this family the future they have fought so hard for. Every contribution, big or small, brings Daniel closer to his first real meal.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
