Help Dani & Launi Rebuild After Their Truck and Tools Were

Hi, my name is Dennise, and I’m starting this GoFundMe to help my sister and brother-in-law, Dani and Launi Richert, from Red Deer, Alberta.

In the early morning hours of October 4th, their truck was stolen right from in front of their home. Inside the truck were all of Launi’s tools as well. Overnight, they lost not only their only means of transportation, but their independence as well.

This has been absolutely devastating for them.

Twelve years ago, Launi was severely injured in a workplace accident and now receives a WCB pension each month — barely enough to get by.

Both Dani and Launi also face ongoing medical challenges and have frequent doctor’s appointments they must attend. They have 2 children that live at home. Reliable transportation isn’t just a convenience for this family — it’s an absolute necessity for their daily lives and medical care.

To make matters even worse, Dani and Launi recently discovered that their insurance did not include theft coverage, despite faithfully paying their premiums online. They truly thought they were protected, only to find out too late that they weren’t.

If you know Dani and Launi, you know they are two of the kindest, most generous people you could ever meet. They would literally give the shirt off their backs to help someone else in need. This heartbreaking situation couldn’t have happened to two nicer, more selfless people.

Our family members will be contributing to this fundraiser as well to help them get back on their feet, but the costs are simply more than any of us can manage alone. That’s why we’re reaching out to the community — friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers — for help.

We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to help them purchase a used vehicle so they can get to medical appointments, run errands, and regain a sense of normal life again. Every dollar helps — no matter how small — and your kindness will go directly toward helping them rebuild after this painful loss.
