Help Dan, Pam and their Kids Through This Time

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Sara. I’m Dan’s little sister and I’ve opened this gofundme on behalf of family and everyone who is reaching out and asking how they can help.

Right now, I’m struggling. So many of us are. Dan suffered a horrible stroke on Friday, November 29th and remains in the Intensive Care Unit, showing slow signs of progress but still considered to be in the woods.

If you know Dan, this attention on him would be mortifying because of his glowing pride and increasing introvertedness. But, in times like these, and under their own unique circumstances, families scramble to offer their best help while dealing with the debilitating grief. This fundraising campaign will be a light in a terribly dark time as we try to support Dan, his wife Pam, their kids, and their pets through the aftermath of Dan’s stroke. Family, friends and community are everything in times like these. Thank you for considering a donation. Thank you as well, for the important social sharing of this campaign as we hope to reach as many people as we can.

Dan Wilcox, 55, is a lifelong Port Colborne resident known for his love of his wife, family, pets, friends, sports and community. From his early days playing rec hockey and baseball, to his unwavering dedication as a basketball dad, Dan has always been the kind of guy people would smile about, shake their heads, and mutter “Dan the Man.” Those who know him well speak to his kindness, loyalty, and big heart. His wife Pam is from the Beck family, whose roots in Port Colborne branch out far and wide, touching countless lives. Pam is also an ECE for the NCDSB.

As Dan is currently in the ICU, the incidental medical costs are mounting quickly. As many know, emergencies like this can throw families into unpredictable financial turmoil. Between the mortgage & bills, ongoing self-care/nourishment, parking & fuel for the daily commutes to the hospital out of town and all of the daily living expenses, the financial strain can quickly become overwhelming.

By coming together and supporting this fundraiser, we can ease some of the immediate pressure on Pam and the girls while everyone can better focus on, and pray for, Dan’s recovery.

This is a time when they need us most. Our collective support—whether through donations, shared resources, or simply spreading the word—will provide much-needed relief. Let’s show Dan that we’d never leave his Pam and the girls alone on this journey.
