Hi there! My name is Dahlia and unfortunately, I need to move out as soon as possible. I'm hoping you can help me! My house has become hostile and abusive towards me due to my identity as a transgender woman, making an environment where I worry for my safety every day. My mother is emotionally and financially abusive towards me, and has been physically abusive to me in the past.

I work near full time for almost minimum wage while in school and pay for my health bills, HRT, our cats asthma treatments and vet visits when he was alive, and I pay my mother rent. Despite all this my mother frequently berates me for not moving out, steals money from me, misgenders me on purpose and acknowledges it as so, uses half of my storage space then berates me for having items in my room, sifts through my room often, and has broken the door handle in attempts to access my room. I still pay her rent even after all of this.

What hurts most is we had a family cat that grew attached to me whom she neglected, so I started caring for him. She denied him having asthma so I had to pay for his expensive treatments. He ended up having to be put down due to her neglect since I could only afford to take him so often. She makes over 300k a year and easily could have covered his bills.

Because of this, I want to get ahead of the curve with moving out. I am currently trying to pay off all my health bills, credit cards, and other payments before I can do that. Really any amount helps. My goal is to be out within the next few months, but the sooner the better.
