This is so hard for me to write, but I'm going to try my best. My furry son, D (full name too long lol) is fighting for his life, and we could really use some help. Until Monday night, he was in perfect health. Very out of character for him, he got into some yarn from a bag in my closet and ate a LOT of it.

At his age, the vets recommend that we try to hold off on exploratory surgery that would require hospitalization and a feeding tube post-op. The estimation given to me for that operation and post-care alone is roughly $7,000.

My baby boy is fighting so hard, and they didn't even expect him to make it this long without surgery, even though surgery was not recommended. He is having daily vet visits to be able to give him fluids and continue to update and adjust medicines to try to get his system to push this through. Thousands of dollars have already been spent to allow him to have the chance to fight for his life since he is not in pain. He has made major progress, but we are not out of the water yet!

At his vet visit today, the doctors were blown away and said they were truly shocked to see how well he is doing and that he is eating on his own. I have not been able to work because of his medication schedule and to be here for him in case anything happens.

A little back story on D.

I rescued him at 5 weeks old, and he has been with me ever since. He has lived in 15 homes and has moved from New York to Florida and has been my ride or die through it all! I could not possibly love him more, and so many others love him too! I know everyone who has got to spend time with him adores him! He is fighting so hard, and I can't imagine life without him. To see him go from perfect health to nearly on his deathbed has been truly heartbreaking! The amount of outreach I have heard from friends from around the world has been so touching. I have a very hard time asking for help, but he is 100% worth me getting out of my comfort zone to ask for it now.
