Metastatic Stage 4 breast Cancer
It hurts me to have to reach out to family and friends for help but my family, specifically my mother Crystal Driscoll really can use some help during her fight against this horrible disease.
It started in the early summer when my mom started having severe unexplained back pain. She went to her doctors 4 times before they would even take an X-ray. Well once they got the results it set off a chain of events we never saw coming. They told us they found some ‘spots’ on her spine all with some fractures. They went on to send her for an MRI where they they told us we needed too take her to the ER right away. This takes us to early August. The emergency room took their own testing and said they needed to admit her in order to figure what is going on with her and to get her pain under control. Little did we know it would take them 2 weeks to release her.
Her official diagnosis is Stage 4 breast cancer with both liver and bone Mets.
She is now on 4 different chemo/targeted therapies to try to beat this cancer. They sent her for genetic testing as the preliminary results show that she does carry the BRC1 and BRCA 2 genes. This would mean she would need to have her ovaries removed next year as it it increases your odds of getting ovarian cancer significantly.
My mother is an amazing mother, daughter, friend and family member. She has the heart of gold and would do anything for her loved ones. She has always been such a hardworking mom who has done so much for me and our family. We can’t imagine our lives without her even for second.
If you know anyone with stage 4 cancer you know that it’s financially draining. Between all of the hospital bills and loss of income it’s a very challenging time for our family. I ask that you please share this story with your family and friends. No donations is too small. Any donation is appreciated so much.
Thank you.
