Hi Everyone, my name is Nicole Costerus and I am currently in Benin, West Africa to be initiated as a priestess into the indigenous tradition of Vodou here. Martine de Souza is the woman & community mama that initiates me. She is supporting the community in countless of ways amongst which she has 10 teenagers and young adults living in her house to help build them a life. You can help us make a dream come true for 2 of them + 20 children in school.

Credo is one of the young men who lives in Mama Martine’s house. Mama Martine found him on the streets when he was only 6 years old. He and his brother ran away from home, from an abusive stepmother that would hit them and not feed them.

When he came to mama Martine she noticed he was always playing with fabrics and a needle to sew things. That’s why she educated him in the profession of tailor. He completed this now and likes it…

but…in his heart, he has 1 big passion!! Vodou!! He is always around Martine supporting her with the ceremonies and knows all the rituals, but he never managed to save enough money to go through his first initiation ceremony.

As you can imagine, in a country where 40% of the people live below the poverty line of $2 a day, it’s not easy to gather the funds to live a life with your biggest passion. And the initiations are very expensive for the people here.

I WANT TO SURPRISE HIM AND SHOW HIM ITS POSSIBLE TO LIVE HIS DREAM!

AND YOU CAN HELP CREDO MAKE HIS DREAM COME TRUE!!

I’m taking this opportunity to ask you to help make Credo’s dreams come true so he can finally take the first step in the initiation process.

GOAL 2 => SCHOOLBOOKS FOR 20 LOCAL CHILDREN (Goal €350) -

We reached the schoolbooks goal in less than 24 hours!!

This project offers schoolbooks to children that don’t have parents or have parents that cannot afford them. With this money we can support 20 children with enought books for the new school year.

GOAL 3 => 1 YEAR OF CATERING STUDY FOR ZANEB (Goal €500) :

Zaneb (15) is one of the girls underneath Mama Martine's wing. Her dream is to work with pastry and this catering study will prepare her for working with her biggest passion.
