My name is Davide Buck. My father John Buck died at the age of 63 due to prostate cancer on September,14, 2023. Doctors told us that with treatments he could live between 5 and 10 years, unfortunately the cancer spread to his liver. Earlier this fall his oncologist told us that he had only couple of weeks to live and unfortunately this was true.
My family has been in shock. As the weeks go on, we are also confused, sad and in pain. John Buck was a good man, a good father, and a good husband. His wish was to take care and love his family. He was successful in loving his family, he was not able to fulfill his wish completely. In 2008 he had open heart surgery. He had mechanical valve and a piece of aortic vein was replaced, nobody was willing to give him life insurance because of this.
My 80-year-old mother Fiorella Buck used to work at Alice Peck Day memorial hospital in Lebanon New Hampshire for 17 years in the food nutrition services, and she had life insurance for her husband, it was 50,000$. Unfortunately, she injured her right knee at work, her work department was not able to accommodate the doctors’ restrictions given to my mother, so they suspended her and gave short and then long-term disability but this ends May 31, 2024. My mother lost her life insurance because eventually she was terminated from her job and lost all her benefits including the life insurance for her and my father.
My father was a U.S.A. Military veteran served in the 509th airborne unit, between 2017 and 2018 he was not able to work anymore because of his military injuries. He had a good military disability income because of injuries from serving. When he died my mother was not able to get his disability income, because his death was not service connected. She lost her social security income but she gets my father’s social security that is only $500 more per month. Now we need money to pay the bills, and taxes , so we can live in the house that my father worked so hard to give to us. With this house my parents helped many people giving them shelter in their time of need. We would like to keep the house so it can help more people in the future.
Until we meet again papà. You left your physical form the 14 of September 2023 in the morning at 3:40 am you were happy to be home with your family, la mamma and I stayed with you until they picked you up. You faced death with dignity and bravery! You had a hard life with much suffering, but you didn't allow life to turn you bad, you conquered life and became good, you always helped your family and others, you worked as a licensed nurse assistant at Dartmouth Hitchcock medical center hospital in Lebanon New Hampshire for 10 years helping many people with many health problems. You volunteered to help build places of worship to God. You did your best to help people in need. You shared your wisdom with us. You always worked hard and that was your way to show us your love. You had faith in God and he helped you in life. I wish we had more time together here on earth. I wanted to repay you for all the love you gave us, but we don't have enough time here. I hope we can all be together again for eternity with God. Before you died, you told us to do the best we can with our lives, I will try to do the best i can, by continuing to grow spiritually and to work on my heart to have more love by helping people, like you and la mamma helped people! Now it is December 2025 i have evolved and continuing to evolve spiritualy, and i want to create a spiritual wellness arts center, so I can help the community by sharing positive energy that God shares with me and everyone. A spiritual wellness arts center is a welcoming space that uses creative activities like painting, music, dance, and writing, alongside mindfulness practices (yoga, meditation) to help people explore their inner selves, find purpose, connect with others, and achieve harmony, regardless of specific religious beliefs, focusing on universal values like love and personal meaning-making. These centers offer tools for stress relief, healing, and self-discovery, connecting the mind, body, and soul through artistic expression and community building. Ciao papà ti voglio tanto bene!
Please help make my father’s and my wish come true. We know these times are difficult for everyone especially financially. We are grateful for any help. Please share our story with others, make a modest donation, or a prayer to help us survive these hard times. Our family thanks you with all our hearts and wishes love and a good life to all of you. We are all eternally loved.
