Coyotes and pets in Burbank, CA are in danger and we need your help!
By donating to this fundraiser, you can help fund a donation to the Burbank Animal Shelter. The donation consists of small air horns and whistles that will be given out as hazing devices for wild coyotes wandering into residential areas in Burbank. Ideally, we hope to reach our goal before March 20th. Any extra funds will be used to help offset the costs of my Eagle Scout project.
Coyote Hazing LA Animal Services
Burbank, CA sits in between two mountain ranges, making it the perfect habitat for coyotes. Recently, coyotes have been wandering into residential areas in Burbank to look for food. Less traffic due to COVID-19 restrictions has led to increased populations of coyotes in residential areas, resulting in conflicts between people and pets.
The Burbank Animal Shelter constantly receives calls from worried pet owners about coyote sightings, because simply not enough people know about the issue, or what to do if they encounter a coyote.
People tend to ignore coyotes when they encounter them, and this leads to them not being afraid around people, and as a result, more keep coming into Burbank. My Eagle Scout project will help educate the public about this coyote issue, in order to spread the word and make sure pet owners and coyotes are kept out of dangerous situations.
And that's why I need your help! This fundraiser will fund a donation to the Burbank Animal Shelter of humane hazing devices to be handed out to the public. This will help keep pets, their owners, and coyotes safe. This project personally means a lot to me, as a resident of Burbank and a pet owner. Your support means a whole lot!
