Hello everyone,
As some of you know, back in 2017, I had a right renal dissection, which caused me to lose 1/3 of my kidney.
Well, this past Sunday evening, while bathing and getting ready for bed, I noticed numbness/tingling and discoloration of my left foot and leg. When I would stand, I had such horrible pain and lost some control of my leg as well. We ended up going to the emergency room in Appleton, where they took a CT scan and found my left iliac artery dissected from my belly button to my groin. This could have turned out to be more life-threatening if I had waited, and I am still not out of the woods.
With being 31 weeks pregnant, I was too high risk to stay in Appleton; therefore, they helicoptered me down to Froedtert around 2:30 AM.
They are going to be doing genetic testing for connective tissue disorders and are currently medically managing my symptoms at this time with plans to do surgery on both legs once the baby is born. It has been determined that the safest way for delivery is going to be a c-section for my health and the baby's. They are hoping to hold off on surgery as long as possible to let her finish developing, but if my health deteriorates, they would take her earlier.
When I do get up and walk the hallways, I still get pain and some discoloration, but the numbness/tingling has resolved.
At this time, there are several unknowns such as: what and why, when I will be discharged from Froedtert, and my full prognosis. At this time, they are predicting I will be in the hospital for at least 2 weeks, if not 2 months, until our baby is born.
Good news! Baby is doing great, active, and looks well. They did start some steroids to help develop the lungs just in case we would have to deliver early.
Up until this, my pregnancy has been healthy with no complications.
With these now added medical bills and not being able to work myself, along with Luke having to commute back and forth from Seymour to Milwaukee, this is going to put an added financial stress on us as we were preparing for our baby in 9 weeks and to be delivered in Appleton normally versus now we have to deliver down in Milwaukee.
On top of this, a week and a half ago, I hit a deer with my car, which is in the process of being fixed. This is another burden to my financial situation that I was able to take care of prior to these now added medical bills.
So, I am asking kindly, as this is something I would not normally do, if you are able to help us, we would greatly appreciate any support.
Thank you for your time to read this and any help you may be able to provide.
