Hello there,

My name is Dallas Steffen, son of James Steffen. James (Jim) Steffen, my father, unexpectedly passed away at 6:52 AM on Sunday, November 2, surrounded by family. To my brothers, sister, and I, he was the best dad anyone could have asked for, and to others, he was a brother, a husband, and a good friend who would do anything to help.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, his sons and their wives, Orlyn (Liz), Hank (Chelsey), and Dallas (Jess) and daughter, Loretta (Bill), his brothers Cliff (Sara) and Dean (Sandy), and sisters, Shelly (Bruce) and Shannon (Jon), as well as many grandchildren, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Jim was a friend you would want to have if you weren't friends with him already. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, trapping, and just being outside rain or shine. He loved making anyone laugh and was easy-going, striking up a conversation with anyone. He took pride in his family and was there to support them no matter what, whether it was helping fix something like a brake line, splitting wood, serving as a fishing guide, or just being there to listen during the good times and the bad times.

Having recently gone into remission from his cancer after a 7-year battle, we were optimistic, but shortly after that, complications arose throughout his body. He fought hard through the end. He fought cancer, which included several surgeries, emergency trips to the hospital, radiation, and chemotherapy. He also fought while dealing with the grief of losing his son, Lenny, in 2021, along with many others like his sister, Shawn, and mother Myra. Despite this, he kept the faith and gave it everything he had for over 7 years to be there for his family. He faced trials a lesser man could not face, all in the name of living life to the fullest with his family.

We are devastated by the loss of Jim, and were not prepared for the costs after his passing. It would mean the world to us all if you could help our mother. We are asking to provide what you can spare by 11/30/25 in order to help pay for bills and expenses during this difficult time.
