Morgan and Devin welcomed Ridge Kasen Bobbitt to the world on June 25, 2021 at 27 weeks old weighing 1lb. 15.9 ounces and 14.37 inches long. At the same time, Morgan delivered their other son, Roan Kessler Bobbitt who had previously lost his fight due to stage 3 TTTS (twin to twin transfusion syndrome).
"We got to hold Roan. Something we never anticipated getting to do. Although it is gut wrenching to know we will not be bringing home two boys, we are confident he is being held by our loving Heavenly Father."
TTTS is a rare condition that can form in an identical twin pregnancy affecting the amniotic fluid and blood supply. In May, Morgan underwent a fetoscopic laser surgery and an amniocentesis to sever the connections causing TTTS as well as remove some of the excess amniotic fluid. The blood vessels that were severed during surgery were very large which put increased risk on the twins small bodies and Roan did not survive the surgery.
Ridge continues to fight for his life in the NICU where Morgan and Devin are splitting time staying with Ridge and traveling back home to spend nights and mornings with their toddler son, Slate. Ridge is expected to stay in the NICU for a couple of months and there are many complications and unknowns in the coming days for this sweet family, but we do know that their expenses will be great.
Morgan and Devin have asked for your prayers first and foremost - both for their family, for the hospital staff and other families who are on a similar path. If you are able to contribute financially, every dollar will count and every donation will be greatly appreciated. Morgan and Devin plan to use a portion of these funds to honor their son, Roan by giving to other families that have to travel for medical procedures related to their little ones or those specifically impacted by twin to twin transfusion syndrome.
