Dylan is a 6 year old lab who has been my service dog for the last 4 ish years. We were paired together in 2019, and she's been my best friend ever since. This last May we found a bump on her side that was medium to large sized, it wasn't affecting her much so I thought it was fine. Over the last month, I've been taking her to the vet to get an idea about what was happening. This last week 10/7/25, Dylan had an ultrasound and the findings were not great. Ultrasounds are not a sure fire thing however. Working with her vet Dr. Battle at Arguello Pet Hospital we've come up with the next steps. Which are doing a biopsy of the bump and getting the samples tested, and two x-rays of her torso area to check for spread of whatever it is (Cancer or something else). I'm a college student who works a part time workstudy job, and as much as I want to be in a place where I can, there is no way for me to br able to cover the bills for her upcoming care.

It is hard to put into words what Dylan means to me, being paired with her saved my life. Allowed me to go to college, and live as independent of a life as I can. My goal with all of this is to keep her quality of life as good as possible. To do that I, we, need help.
