Hi, my name is Brittany Rusteberg. Also known as Courtney Eschmanns cool big sister. All that knows me and my family knows we are a close knit family. On June 5th we woke up thinking it was a normal day. Little did we know by that afternoon our lives would change as we face this challenge head on. We heard that Courtney has cancer. When I heard that word I wanted to throw up, scream, punch something but then I realized that we are strong and resilient. I kept thinking life is full of ups and downs but with faith and love we can overcome anything. Shes my baby sister and my best friend. Why was I given the gift of health instead of her? I always protected her when she was little and at this moment I can be strong for her. A few days later and I had to put all those negative feelings I was having into something positive. Shes going to need my family and I to help her fight this ugly disease. Her fight is our fight too! Shes so strong and beautiful. Shes going to be Coco the warrior. To know Courtney, you love her. She is spunky, LOUD, sweet, kind, and has the biggest heart out of anyone I know. Cancer will not take that away from her. Cancer will eventually take away working since her cancer is advanced, her breast (she has Invasive Mammary Carcinoma breast cancer grade 3), her hair, and more. Unfortunately, shes still having more biopsies done for other spots found. Two more spots in her breast and one in a lymph node. The Dr. said she has a long road in front of her. She will be receiving chemo, double mastectomy, port and eventually radiation. All really pricy medical procedures. Shes fighting for her life at the moment and I dont want her or my parents worrying about medical expenses.
