Help Courtney and Jarred Start Their Family
Donation protected
My sister and her husband have been actively trying to concieve for about 2 and a half years now. At this point the only realistic option is unfortunately IVF. I'll include a message from my sister about the diagonises so I don't miss anything. I've never met a couple more deserving to raise child and have a family. With no help from insurance, they are stuck with covering IVF out of pocket. The goal is to take some of the financial burden off of Courtney and Jarred. Any money raised will go directly to cover costs of their fertility treatments.
Message from Courtney:
We started this journey in December 2023 after a year and a half of TTC. It began by exploring my fertility with Dr. Ochalski at Shady Grove Fertility. After countless procedures, tests and exams proved my fertility to be in good standing besides unexplainable delayed ovulation, with plenty of healthy eggs for my age, we were told the sooner the better to start this process.
In April 2024, we had our first urologist appointment with Dr. Hayden at SGF where we were told that we couldn’t have children of our own without IVF. After his extensive chemo treatments from his testicular cancer, his body is miraculously still producing sperm. Something that we learned stops for most men after treatments as intense as his. His RPLND from another bout with cancer, threw a curveball into the mix with retrograde ejaculation. In his urine samples his sperm counts were in the single digits and non-motile but something as Dr. Hayden said, is a miracle. After 3 months of supplements and lifestyle change, we did an at home sperm test. With retrograde ejaculation, he took sudafed(something we learned about with research) to reverse it and to our shock we found a good amount of active and moving sperm! We've gotten to the point where we experienced a chemical pregnancy in June but nothing since. Emotionally this has really taken a toll, considering a natural pregnancy was never expected or even considered to be possible. Being 30 and 35, we are extremely ready to be parents and to raise and love a child that is ours.
