Hello friends! This fundraiser is on behalf of two families who are part of the Coru community and its SCA medieval household: Vali and her wife and three kids, and Brennos and Morpheus. Recently, after returning from An Tir West War, the trailer containing all of our camp and medieval gear was stolen, and neither of our families can afford to replace all that on our own. So we are turning to our communities for any help you may be able to give.

If you’re part of the SCA medieval reenactment community in the West Kingdom, you may know our household by way of the kids’ involvement in youth activities, archery, and volunteering, or you might have seen some of us teaching at A&S or on the fighting field. Our encampment supports our ability to participate in all of that. We not only lost our whole encampment, the trailer also contained all of the children’s medieval garb, weapons, and leather youth armor, painstakingly handmade by Vali, that they used for youth combat activities. As teenagers who’ve grown up in the SCA, this loss feels deeper than that of just "things" to them; the gear they made and collected over the years felt like physical reminders of the determination, acts of service, and sense of community that make up the Society for them.

If you’re part of the pagan community, you may have seen our service work with the Coru Cathubodua Priesthood. Our medieval encampment gear has also been used time and again to provide spaces at spiritual events, such as the Temple pavilion at Morrigan’s Hearth events, or the hospitality space we set up for the Indian Canyon Storytelling Gathering a couple years ago, and many more service offerings over the years.

For Morpheus and Brennos, our medieval encampment gear is also part of our livelihood, as we have relied on the large pavilion, tables, chairs, lighting, and other camp furnishings as our vendor booth and camping infrastructure for art and craft fairs, tattooing at festivals, and the like. This has hit us at a low point where we were already struggling a bit financially, and without some help to replace this booth infrastructure, we could lose much needed income too.

So to help us recover from this theft, we are welcoming donations. The replacement cost of everything we’ve lost adds up to about $16,000, so we will start with the most high-priority items to replace. Hand-me-down, donated or low-cost camp gear or furnishings are also very welcome. A list of what we’ve lost is below and if donated items come in, we will amend this list and the dollar figure on what we’re seeking.
