Hope you are doing well at this difficult time due to COVID-19 pandemic around the world. Bangladesh is also affected and going through a lock-down at different levels, which is creating an extreme hardship especially to the poor and lower income people who rely on their day to day earnings but unable to work now. The situation may worsen further as the lock-down continues and/or the virus is likely to spread more widely over Bangladesh.
Considering the situation, Jahangirnagar University Global Alumni (both from home and abroad), alongside many others, have taken an initiative to raise a fund to help those in desperate need in Bangladesh. We can make an impact to the lives of these poor people, and those who are in real need, if we all come forward and contribute within our power and capacity. Our goal is to take our contributions directly to the affected/needy people with the help of backbone distribution network of some grassroots level voluntary organizations such as Lions Clubs International, Bangladesh and other community organizations like STARK 0608 Bangladesh under close/active supervision of our Alumni operating on the ground in Bangladesh. For some of us, this may be a very good time/opportunity to donate/pay our Zakat to some deserving recipients as well. We earnestly request and hope you all will step forward and be part of this fund-raising effort for a noble cause.
Please be generous but any contribution is welcome. LET’S DO WHAT WE CAN
