Hello, my name is Corinna.
I’m a hardworking, first-time homeowner who recently discovered what I thought was a small kitchen issue—but it quickly turned into a much bigger and overwhelming situation.
It all started when I decided to upgrade to a larger kitchen sink. I hired a friend to install it, but during the process, she noticed leaks and signs of water damage. When we tried to investigate further and looked under the house, we discovered something shocking—a major flood.
I immediately called a plumber, and after a full inspection, they found extensive damage to the pipes throughout my home. I was given two options: pay for major leak repairs or completely repipe the house, which costs $18,000. I chose to move forward with the repairs because the full repipe just wasn’t financially possible.
I was hopeful that my insurance would help cover the damage. But when they began removing the kitchen counters, things got even worse—they discovered mold.
We managed to raise $4,000 for mold remediation, but once the walls were opened, more damage was uncovered. There is now mold, mildew, and structural damage affecting three walls, spreading into the bathroom used by my daughter and my 3-month-old granddaughter.
Since March 16, we have been without a kitchen, and there is still no clear end in sight. We’ve been told it could take until June or July before things are restored. Now, parts of the front of the house may also need to be vacated due to the extent of the damage.
I never imagined I would be in this position. It’s incredibly difficult for me to ask for help, but I’ve reached a point where I can’t do this alone.
Any support—whether it’s donations, sharing this page, or simply keeping us in your prayers—means more than I can express.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.
With gratitude,
Corinna, kids and baby love
