On 5/17/26, a severe windstorm caused the power line behind my mother's home to explode, setting off a chain of disasters. The explosion ignited a fire in her home, and a live wire fell into the pool, causing another explosion that shook the entire house. As if that wasn't enough, water began flooding the house, forcing my mom to shut off the main water supply to stop the damage.

My mom's home is a safe haven for three adults, two children, and two dogs. Since the incident, they've had to rely on family and the local gym for basic needs like bathing and laundry. Despite reaching out to the insurance company, they have not been moved into temporary housing and are still waiting for answers. The insurance company continues to give them the runaround, leaving them in limbo during this crisis.
