Help Corbin and the Medellin Family

Hi my name is Roxanne and I am fundraising for The Medellin family. As most of you know, their son was born with Down Syndrome, Trisomy 21 and three holes in his tiny baby heart.

Their pregnancy was normal, mid-screening and in-depth sonograms were performed with no indication of Corbin’s medical issues.

Corbin has been diagnosed with PDA (patent ductus arteriosus), ASD (atrial septal defect), VSD (ventricular septal defect), PAPVR (partial anomalous pulmonary venous return), heart murmur and Down Syndrome, Trisomy 21.

On Sunday evening (9/10) Corbin was rushed to the ER at University, and found out he was in bad heart failure and got admitted.

On Tuesday (9/12) at noon, surgery took place. They plugged up the biggest hole in his heart PDA via procedure that was done through left rib cage.

The family is in need of these funds for food while Antoinette continues to remain bedside near Corbin while in the hospital (about 1-2 weeks)

For her mom who is taking her two kids to and from school and to feed the kids once they are home.

The family went from 2 incomes to only 1 income for 5 of them. The last check she received was for $227, at the beginning of August.

David has used almost all vacation/sick days and still cares for the two children at home, not getting paid for any additional days off until his jobs renews vacation/sick days.

Pediatricians and doctors have advised NO DAYCARE for Corbin, meaning Antoinette will not be able to return to work as his care will consist of multiple appointments with cardiologist, his pediatrician, occupational/speech/oral and physical therapy.

The family has had to break their lease to their apartment due to being reduced on a 1 income household.

This family is amazing and in need of help from their village. Everything seemed to be going accordingly to plan and they have been dealt a difficult hand.
