The Big News: We’ve Moved!
For decades, Conscious Connections Horsemanship ™ has been a sanctuary for those looking to connect with horses on a deeper, harmonious, level. We are thrilled to announce that we have officially moved and expanded to The Paddock Riding Club at Verdant in Los Feliz, CA!
While this move allows us to keep our unique experiential learning model in the heart of the city, the costs of relocating a horse facility and setting up a safe, world-class environment for our herd and students are significant. We are reaching out to our community to help us bridge the gap and ensure our programs continue to thrive in our new home.
What Makes Us Different?
Under the guidance of Carla Jo Bailey, we provide more than just riding lessons; we offer a space where horses and humans grow together through immersive learning, specialized lessons and clinics.
Our programs cater to everyone from beginners to professional riders. A sampling of our programs and curriculum include:
- A Foundation in Dressage for ALL disciplines: Building competent, balanced, athletic, and educated horses and riders.
- The Intersection of Arts & Horses: Our famous camps blend visual and performing arts with horsemanship.
- Equine Assisted Learning (EAL): A unique way for anyone, including but not limited to horse professionals, to explore enhanced creativity, communication and connection.
- Community Outreach: Our Leg Up Riding Program ™ offers youth and adults a path to their dreams through comprehensive training in horsemanship, equine medicine, and psychology. By providing working student roles, scholarships, and sports programming, we ensure that passion—not just resources—drives the next generation of riders and community leaders.
- Pint Sized Partners: Our miniature horses visit special events, special needs groups, and are well versed in therapeutic conversations. Make an appointment to come by and talk to them!
New Frontiers: Vaquero Viewpoints
We are particularly excited to use this expansion to grow our groundbreaking program: Vaquero Viewpoints (Mary Overlie and Anne Bogart). By applying legendary performing arts practices to horsemanship we have found you can, indeed, learn/teach "feel". This experience enhances connection for all disciplines though spatial awareness, timing, somatics, and the profound non-verbal dialogue between horse and human.
How Your Donation Helps
The "hidden" costs of a move and expansion are many. Your contributions will go directly toward:
- Space Upgrades: Ensuring our horses & humans have the best environment to work and play.
- Moving & Settling Costs: Getting our herd & offices safely to Los Feliz and maintaining herd health during the transition.
- Program Development: Helping us flesh out the curriculum for our new Viewpoints-based workshops, Equine Science programs and more.
"Horsemanship is not just about the ride; it’s about the Conscious Connections we build along the way."
