Help Connie Shaw Secure Safe Housing

We are reaching out to you today with a heartfelt plea to support Connie Shaw, a justice advocate, world champion pool player, amateur car mechanic, and cancer survivor who lives with physical disabilities, cPTSD, and is currently unhoused.

Connie was a quiet tenant who took care of her apartment. She was evicted from her apartment for the following:

As former landlords ourselves and having viewed the relevant documentation, we can vouch for the fact that, in Connie’s case, the landlord’s behavior appears to have been unresponsive, unreliable and unprofessional, and at times dishonest and indefensible.

This process has caused Connie to lose her Section 8 housing assistance. The organizations and agencies who offer rental assistance are tapped out. She is appealing in court to regain her Section 8, but that could take months to be reinstated. Your donation would allow Connie to pay for temporary housing while she seeks permanent housing options, and stable housing is a critical component of mental health and well-being. Your support will provide Connie with the security she needs to focus on her well-being.

How you can help:

We are seeking to raise $5000 to cover the immediate costs of temporary housing while Connie awaits her Section 8 appeal. Any funds raised beyond this goal will go towards moving expenses and other related housing costs as Connie transitions to a new home.
