Hi, my name is Yvette. I was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and came to the United States as a refugee. Today, I am blessed to be a U.S. citizen, but my heart will always be with the people of Congo.

I want to give back to the country that gave me life. My goal is to raise funds to support families and communities in Congo who are still facing hardship due to conflict, displacement, and poverty.

The needs in Congo right now are urgent and deeply human. Since October 2022, more than 4 million people have been displaced in North Kivu, with nearly a million in just the last six months. Families are living in camps without basic necessities. Children walk barefoot. Mothers go without sanitary products. Pregnant women and newborns face unimaginable risks without proper care. Communities struggle daily to access clean water, food, and hygiene essentials.

Funds from this campaign will go directly toward these urgent priorities: clean water, food, shoes for children, women’s sanitary and hygiene products, and vital support for pregnant women and newborns — with a special focus on displaced families and the Focus Congo Village.
