On April 1st, Colton and Katie left for work like any other day, only to receive a devastating call that their home was on fire. Colton rushed back to find the kitchen completely destroyed, with fire and smoke causing severe damage throughout the house. Windows were shattered, and the interior now needs major repairs due to extensive smoke damage. Most heartbreakingly, both of their beloved dogs Millsap & Pepper passed away from smoke inhalation. This loss has been absolutely devastating for them.
In addition to the emotional pain of losing their pets and the safety of their home, Colton and Katie are now facing the overwhelming financial burden of rebuilding without homeowners insurance. They need to repair and replace so much, including the kitchen, cabinets, windows, doors, flooring, appliances, furniture, bedding, and other everyday essentials. Some of their immediate needs are dishes, cups, plates, Tupperware, cooking utensils, full-size bed sheets, blankets, and pillows. Thankfully, clothing and toiletries have already been provided through generous donations from friends and family.
Right now, one of the biggest needs is financial support. Gift cards to Lowe’s or monetary donations would help tremendously as they work to replace essentials and begin the long process of rebuilding their home out of pocket. A dumpster has already been delivered, and loved ones have started helping clear out the damage, but there is still a long road ahead. Any donation, big or small, will make a meaningful difference for Katie and Colton during this incredibly difficult time. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping them in your thoughts and prayers.
