My sister, Colette Bezio, had an apartment fire on her birthday, Tuesday, April 14th, 2026. A power bank she plugged in because of the coming storms exploded and shot fire and melted plastic like lava all over.
She got out unscathed (miraculously), but she lost her 2 cats, computer, graphic art hardware and software, and other electronics, collectibles, books, and probably all her clothes and furniture, because of toxic smoke.
She's staying with Mom for now. We will know more of what is lost and unsalvageable once the landlord's insurance people go through and let her in.
She did not have renter's insurance (she's already been lectured) so much more may need replacing.
She works in Seymour, Wisconsin, in the library, and everyone there loves her! She is generous with her time to everyone and always thinks of others. Now it's time to think of her.
If you are able to help her start to make a home again, it would be much appreciated!!!
