Hello everyone, thank you for taking time out of your day to offer support. For those that do not know me, my name is Colby, son of Will and Beverly. Though my life has had many challenges and obstacles, I have been more than fortunate and always looked after by The Good Lord. I come forth to humbly ask for help in recouping my and my fiancée's wedding fund.
Samantha and I have been together 8 incredible years and have been engaged since March of 2023. She has been more than a pillar of support for me throughout, no matter the situation, and has weathered whatever storm has come our way and ALWAYS remained by my side. Her strong, kind, and selfless nature makes her more than deserving of the wedding she envisions. She has worked tirelessly at 2 jobs for the last 3 years to save money as I help my dad run and operate our truck repair business, but saving money and paying bills in the financial climate today is a tall task.
Samantha has endured many heartbreaks and losses of her own, most notably her father Michael DiMaggio, who unfortunately passed away from brain cancer when she was just 10 years old. I would argue Sam had more obstacles than me in her upbringing. But no matter how tough the situation, she has remained strong and always done and offered anything she could to help and support.
More recently (Nov 30th, 2023), my father and I unfortunately had our house raided by the FBI and were taken into custody for being at the Capitol on January 6th and were charged with civil disorder (glorified trespassing). We were not there to cause harm, destruction, or an "insurrection" but were simply curious about the parade to the Capitol after the "Stop the Steal Rally." After our 3 minutes inside, I assisted Capitol police in guiding fellow patriots to the exit peacefully. Unfortunately, both my father and I (never having been arrested or in any sort of trouble before) were charged and sentenced to prison earlier this year. Fortunately, God looked out for us as I stated before, and we were able to maintain our jobs, our customers, as well as our home.
Although for myself and for Sam, one of the biggest heartaches of this entire event has been that any and every bit of planning for our wedding was washed away and any money we had saved up was used for legal fees and bills. (October 2024 was supposed to be the wedding). We've had to start over with our wedding planning and funds entirely.
Throughout the legal process, Sam has endured all the heartache, stress, pain, defamation, and the unknown by my side, even disputes with her own family in regards to myself, and has remained true to me and our strong relationship. She has never once wavered. She has never pushed, begged, pouted, whined, or become impatient with our situation since having to move the wedding back. Her strength, patience, care, love, and reliability are second to none.
I plead with anyone to donate whatever they may be able to, so that we may give this amazing woman the wedding she deserves. I genuinely appreciate anyone reading this and taking the time to offer support. Again, I thank you and hope you have a wonderful day.
