Help Cody Anderson Restore Community Roads
Donation protected
My name is Cody Anderson. I am raising money to make my community road safe after the hurricane. For 4 days after the hurricane the people of river ridge were isolated from the outside world. We cut our way out as rescuers cut their way in. A farmer brought his excavator and cleared the 4 mudslides that covered the road. He also cut a ford into the river so large trucks could cross to work on power lines. They used a tank to set the poles. Many resident needed to be evacuated. There was no power for 12 days which was a miracle because the initial estimate was 4-6 months. The are 25 families in my neighborhood, 5 lost their homes and most can’t leave. Families still have to go to work, kids need school and many don’t have any place to go. The road is passable by ATV but can’t be used by car. The area along the river needs stone to prevent more mudslides. The gravel has been washed away or is covered in 10-12 inches of sand and mud. Gravel and stone are needed in the river crossing where ATV’s go through the river. Stone needs to be used on the inside of the turn that washed out. The river has doubled in with and now flows dangerously close to the road bed. Stone will be needed to prevent the road being compromised. $5000 can’t fix everything but we can make the dangerous areas more safe and buy time for addressing the bigger picture. Thank you for your generosity
